And the Old
I imagined this to be a young girl living in a grim world of "Mycanthropes", the setting and inhabitants having all been overtaken by fungi
This time, I knew I wanted to put more emphasis on her fungal "collar" as a main design element
For her expression, I wanted to capture the same vancancy that the original had, but with a hint of emotion
And for the growth on her head, I replaced the fan like design with a sprouting "pod"
I wanted the composition to remain very similar to the original, but not identical
I'd like to make a character concept sheet for her at a later date, so if you enjoy this design, this isn't the last you'll see of her
I've been away for some time, and I'd like to start posting again. I decided on redrawing one of my favorite old illustrations, with a focus on giving the central figure a more coherent and intentioned character design, as opposed to the messy experimental style of the original. There are some things that I still prefer about the original, and many that I don't. I feel like I put a distracting amount of definition in the hair of the new version, but I'd like to hear which you prefer, and why. Either way, I appreciate you all for taking the time to view or read this, and if any of you could tell me how you put paragraphs or linebreaks into a description on this website, I'd appreciate you even more.
